Healthy Super Bowl Sunday Snacks

Who doesn’t love the Super Bowl? Even if you aren’t a football fan, there is something to be said about watching the TV commercials, listening to the performers sing, the tasty snacks and being with family and friends. Personally, I don’t care about the game. But the commercials and the food? Count me in!

Many of my FASTer Way clients worry about events like a Super Bowl party because they aren’t sure what they’ll eat or if what they eat will fall within their macros. So I tell them to do what they should for any big holiday or event:

  • Break your fast a little bit later if you can

  • Get a workout in, even if it’s just a hike

  • Choose healthy options if available

  • If not, enjoy the day and don’t worry about it.

There will always be birthday’s, holidays, or other celebrations and you need to live your life. One day of “off” eating won’t change them as they progress toward their goals. Now if they go off the rails for a week, we might want to talk. But one day is one day. And you should enjoy time with your family and friends and not worry about it.

But if you are hosting a party, you get to control what’s on the menu. So below I’ve rounded up some of my favorite healthy Super Bowl treats for you to enjoy. If you make any, please tag me!

Nachos

Nachos are notorious for being loaded with calories and bad for you ingredients. Not here.

Wings

Buffalo wings are a Super Bowl Party staple. Here is a delicious low carb option everyone will love.

Spinach Dip

Usually loaded with saturated fat and calories, spinach dip is one of those things that sounds healthy but isn’t. This version tastes just as good as the original.

Chili

This is Ayesha Curry’s recipe and it’s probably the best chili I’ve tasted. Skip the sour cream and top with plain greek yogurt mixed with salsa. This WILL be a crowd pleaser.

Game Day Beer Chili

Cornbread Muffins

If you’re making chili, you MUST have cornbread. This recipe is super easy and healthier than the traditional version. Use gluten-free flour if you don’t eat gluten.

Apple and Brie Quesadilla

What’s a Super Bowl party without a little quesadilla? This is a great addition to any party!
